Lillehammer Experimental presents the Album launch and tour of free form vocal and noise duo W/V, and a special live set by sound installation artist, Carsten Aniksdal.
W/V combines the fathomless bass and effects of James Welburn and Juliana Venter's mystifying banshee wail. Who better to pair with a noisy drone musician than an opera singer known to accompany an orchestra of motorcycles and string instruments?
From sheer blood soaked improvisation to colossal atmospheric drone tracks, W/V cherish each and every sound in their sonic domain.
" A slow operatic apparition of greasy dronal rainbows" Freq
" a brilliant and insightful performance from Venter and Welburn, terrifying soundscapes like a form of exorcism" Luminousdash
" If Dante would have wanted a soundtrack to his Divine Comedy then it would have been a collaboration between composer and singer Juliana Venter and composer/ noise artist James Welburn" Artnoir.

Filmmaker / Photographer Carsten Aniksdal lives and works
in Oslo, Norway. In both video and audio he refers to often recounted scenes and situations from movies, music and popular culture that he deconstructs and puts together in new collages.
His last work ”Burning Guitar” became shown and sold at the
autumn exhibition 2017. He is currently working with a sound
sculpture he has called ”Musique concrète” - a concrete cube
with integrated sound from the creation process of a clone of the same form.
Carsten will perform music drawn from his installation using sound from the creation, manipulation and destruction of the two concrete cube sculptures. Recorded via an embedded microphone in one block as well as multiple external microphones in the foley studio at NrK in Oslo.
